Round-table AMEE

Marina Hervás, Ramón del Buey, Víctor Aguado.

The aim of the reading group of the AMEE is to generate a space of approximation and debate of the key authors of the so-called "sound studies" (sound studies) that, for at least two decades, have an increasing importance in the reflection on sound, music and its relationship with the contemporary sociopolitical framework.
It consists of monthly itinerant meetings, where the problems and issues that emerge from the source text are debated for two hours, under the coordination of a specialist in the field. On this occasion, we will read the text that is found as a theoretical basis for the pedagogical project of ENSEMS, namely, Acoustic Territories, by Brandon LaBelle, a text that closely follows the relationship between technology, sound and public space proposed by Karin Bijsterfeld and which serves as a first approximation to LaBelle's sonic-political project, the "sonic agency" (Sonic agency) that he has exhibited in his recent homonymous publication of 2018.

It is essential to sign up for this activity by writing to comunicacion@musicaelectroacustica.com

The activity is free and no prior knowledge of the subject is required. The discussion will be in Spanish, although the text is in English.
