On stage, there will be ten musicians and unexpected artistic proposals to immerse us in a unique universe of sound and vision. This is a chance to discover world premières of new works by the Argentine composer Martin Matalon, French composer Raphaèle Biston, Spanish composer Voro Garcia, and the Franco-Swiss composer Mio Chareteau.

More than a concert, Focus is also a truly transnational project that aims to provide a general view of contemporary musical creation in Europe.

Biography

Proxima Centauri

Próxima Centauri is a musical ensemble that transforms the codes of chamber music in particular by introducing electroacoustics as a full member of the group. For more than twenty years, Próxima Centauri has been collaborating with numerous artists and other musicians, performers and improvisers, but also dancers and plastic artists. Hence, the ensemble has a multidisciplinary artistic approach, combining musical creation and the visual arts.
Under the artistic management of Marie-Bernadette Charrier, the ensemble carries out an active policy of commissions and creates numerous works by composers of this century while also performing works by the great maestros of the 20th century. Próxima Centauri covers all creative dimensions from research into the manufacture of contemporary instruments to transferring their knowledge to young performers.
Despite being based in Bordeaux since they began, their scope goes beyond Nouvelle-Aquitaine and the borders of France. Internationally famous, the ensemble gets invited to many festivals and tours in Europe, America, Asia and Oceania
